Cifran is a medicine that contains an active substance called ciprofloxacin. It belongs to a group of medicines called fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It has a bactericidal effect (kills the bacteria that are causing an infection). Because of such effect, it is used in the treatment of infections caused by bacteria sensitive to this drug.
